This 12-inch figure of Steve Jobs is set to ship out next month for a whopping $99.99. According to the site’s page, the figure will come with:

  • Two pairs of glasses
  • Three pairs of hands to hold a scaled-down iPhone and the first Mac computer
  • A black turtleneck and a pair of blue jeans
  • A black leather belt
  • A wood and metal chair
  • A pair of tennis shoes and black socks
  • Two apples, one with a bite out of it
  • A “One more thing” backdrop

I’m interested to see if this will go over well. What do you think??

Steve Jobs Resigns as Apple CEO

Posted by iPHi under Apple Related on Saturday Sep 3, 2011

Steve Jobs has recently stepped down as the Chief Executive Officer of Apple, Inc. This decision seems to be due to the fact that he has been on medical leave for an undisclosed reason since January 17, and he feels that he cannot do his job properly anymore. In an email to his coworkers he wrote, “I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come. I hereby resign as CEO of Apple.”

Jobs has handed over the responsibilities of CEO to the Chief Operating Officer, Tim Cook. Cook has been with Apple for 13 years and has been running the company while Jobs has been away.

Jobs also stated in his letter to employees that, “I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.”

WWDC 2011

Posted by iPHi under Apple Related, iPhone 5, Iphone News on Tuesday May 31, 2011

This year’s Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will be held next Monday, June 6th. Apple is expected to launch some new products this year. One product is called iCloud- but no one knows much about it yet. It seems that iCloud may be some type of expansion of Apple’s MobileMe product.

Two more products that are expected to launch are iOS5,  the next generation of Apple’s mobile software, and also Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, the eighth version of Mac’s operating system.

Here’s hoping Apple goes ahead and releases the iPhone 5!

According to Apple’s website, they stated that “[w]e are discontinuing the free case program on all iPhone 4s sold after September 30. We are also returning to our normal returns policy for all iPhone 4s sold after September 30. We now know that the iPhone 4 antenna attenuation issue is even smaller than we originally thought.”  In July, Apple began giving out protective cases after customer complaints about weak signal strength and dropped calls when the iPhone 4 was held with the infamous “death grip” that blocked a gap in the antenna.

At a conference in July, Apple CEO Steve Jobs said that all phones lose signal strength if you hold them a certain way.  He demonstrated this with a few other smartphones as well as the iPhone 4, but still later announced that Apple will be giving away free bumper cases to anyone who needs one.

The free bumper giveaway may be coming to a close, but anyone who purchases an iPhone 4 after September 30 that truly needs a bumper case can call Apple’s customer service because, “a small percentage of iPhone 4 users need a case, and we want to continue providing them a Bumper case for free,” Apple stated.

Apple Press Conference

Posted by iPHi under Apple Related, Iphone News on Wednesday Sep 1, 2010

As anticipated, Apple held a press conference today in San Francisco.  Apple, Inc.  has announced the release of  some new products but the company gave no details about some rumors that have been going around.  There was no news on a white iPhone 4 or a Verizon iPhone.  But Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple, Inc. did announce iTunes 10, a smaller Apple TV, a new iPod Touch, and a new iPod Nano.

There were many rumors going around that Apple was going to announce a Verizon iPhone at this event.  It has been reported recently that Apple and Verizon have been talking and trying to figure out when to get an iPhone on the Verizon network.  There were also rumors about the white iPhone 4.  As much excitement as the white iPhone 4 has caused, one would think Apple would have given some sort of update on it.  Surprisingly, there was no news on the white iPhone 4 so we all have to wait even longer to find out the release date or any other updates.

Even though there was no news on the white iPhone 4 or a Verizon iPhone, Jobs did announce new iPods and a new Apple TV.  They are available now on the Apple website.

Free iPhone 4 Cases

Posted by iPHi under Apple Related, Iphone News on Monday Jul 19, 2010

Cases for the iPhone 4 are currently not for sale anymore.  Apple has pulled its remaining stock of iPhone 4 Bumper cases from its retail and online stores.  By looking at  Apple’s online store, you can see that it shows that the cases are currently unavailable.  Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced Friday that Apple will be giving away free cases to all current iPhone 4 users and to those who purchase the iPhone 4 by September 30 due to complaints over the iPhone 4’s antenna issues.

Apple’s Press Conference

Posted by iPHi under Apple Related, Iphone News on Friday Jul 16, 2010

As I mentioned yesterday, Apple held a press conference today about the iPhone 4.  It lasted an hour and a half and Steve Jobs and some other Apple employees answered questions and set all the rumors straight about the iPhone.  Steve Jobs started off the Conference with a 15-minute presentation and by saying, “You know, we’re not perfect. We know that, you know that. And phones aren’t perfect either.”

Jobs’ presentation consisted of test results on other smart phones like the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and a Samsung smartphone.  He showed what happened when he held each of the phones with the so called “death grip.”  Both phones did the same thing the iPhone does- they lose bars of service.  By showing everyone this, Jobs lets everyone know that good reception for cell phones is a challenge for not only Apple, but for everyone else in the industry, too.

There are a lot of complaints swirling around the internet ranging from antenna issues to yellow spots on the screen.  But these complaints seem to be blown out of proportion.  An analyst said that a return rate of around 5% would indicate that there are serious flaws to the iPhone.  Only 1.7% of iPhone 4s have been returned.  Also, there’s a service Apple offers called AppleCare.  This is a service that is part of the customer support plan from Apple.  When asked what percentage of all iPhone 4 users have called AppleCare about the antenna or reception, Jobs reported that 0.55% of the calls were about the antenna. One half of one percent.

Apple never announced a software fix for the iPhone antenna problem.  They just explained that the hardware issue would be solved with cases the company would be handing out for free.  Instead of giving more information about the antenna issue, Jobs spent the majority of the press conference explaining that cell phone reception problems are an ongoing issue for the entire industry.

Jobs and two other colleagues then closed the press conference by answering some questions.  Hopefully everything is all figured out now and all the rumors will cease.

New iPhone in June?

Posted by iPHi under Apple Related, Iphone News on Monday May 24, 2010

Apple Inc CEO Steve Jobs is going to be delivering the keynote address at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June.  Jobs missed last year’s conference because of health reasons, but he is healthy and ready to give his speech this year.  In the past, Apple has used this conference to unveil new products , which is leading some to believe that Jobs will use the conference this year to reveal the new iPhone 4G to the 5000 developers planning to attend.
