Affordable iPhone insurance for accidental damage and theft
About InsuranceForiPhones.Com After my 3rd broken or stolen iPhone (I only blame myself) it was time to find some insurance. I thought about insurance after my 2nd drop but couldn't find an affordable option. Then I found Worth Ave. Group. I paid 63 dollars for the policy, half the price of squaretrade. When my phone was stolen afterward they replaced it for just a 50 dollar deductible. So for 113 dollars, I got a brand new iPhone. Since I wasn't eligible for an upgrade with AT&T, it was going to cost 500 for a new phone! On ebay it was at least 600 for a new 16GB iPhone 3GS. You do the math! And THAT is why I started this site. Hopefully I'll save some of you from having a broken phone and no insurance!

If you’re planning on attending the WWDC, you should download a free app that Apple has just released that tells you the schedule and events of WWDC 2011. According to a MacWorld article, the app “contains a full schedule and the location of all sessions, labs, and official after-hours excitement; you can create your own customized schedule by favoriting the events you wish to attend, and even book time in advance to speak with an Apple engineer at one of the User Interface, App Review, iTunes Connect, Program Support, or Developer Publication labs.” You can download it and use it on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, but unfortunately, if you’re not going to be at the conference, the WWDC app isn’t available for download. If you’ll be there, though, be sure to check this app out!
A new iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad app was released on Tuesday called Dano Pirate & The Numbers. It’s an educational app and it helps children learn many math- and writing-related things.
The app helps children: - Write by having them trace the number 1-9 - Read by having them choose what number they hear - Understand sequences by filling in missing numbers - Understand quantity by matching objects with the ..corresponding written number
There are 20 games in the app that help the children with each of these things. An article on sfgate.com says “In one of the mini-games, children must identify and tap on a number to help Dano through a maze to reach Julia the Princess. In another, players match the quantity of a set of objects by tapping the correct number. In another, the player must guide Dano across a pond by tapping on numbered islands in the correct sequence. As the game advances, players are asked to help Dano by counting backward.”
The app is available at the App Store for iPhone and iPod Touch for $1.99 and on the iPad and iPad2 for $2.99.
Magellan has come out with a case that protects your iPhone and iPod Touch from the elements. It is water-proof and has a GPS chip that works with the internal GPS of the iPhone and iPod to make it more accurate. There’s also a battery in the case that will nearly double the life of the battery of your device. It allows access to the touch screen and all buttons and jacks. It’s available at the Magellan website for $179.99. The price may seem a little expensive but it’ll be worth it if you drop your phone in some water or if you’re riding your bike and it falls on the ground. Check it out here!
A brand new app just hit the app store earlier today. It’s called RoadAhead and it can tell you what restaurants, gas stations (and their prices!), and other attractions are coming up at exits when you’re driving on the interstate. The app uses the GPS to determine what interstate you’re on and what exits are coming up. When you select one of the options on the list, the app will show you the address and a zoomed-in map of the option you select so you can find where you want to go easily. It’s available for free for your iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad so go to the app store and download it now!
After a recent release of JAJAH on Andriod devices, a new app was released for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. With this new app, you can make phone calls to anyone, anywhere in the world for a very low price. The newest addition to JAJAH, however, is the ability to call your facebook friends using the JAJAH app.
JAJAH CEO, Trevor Healy, stated “Within hours of launching Facebook Calls for Android we saw thousands of calls, so we are very excited to bring this to iPhone owners. Calling has finally arrived in Facebook.”
Making a call to a Facebook friend is very simple. There are four easy steps to do this: 1- Download the JAJAH app from the iTunes store 2- Login to Facebook 3- Select a friend from your “online friends” list 4- Wait for your friend to accept the phone call- they will receive a message in chat telling them you’re calling. Once they accept the call, it connects, and you can talk to them.
The app uses the internet to connect the call, but once it’s connected, it’s just a regular call, which means that every call will have great quality. If you want to know more about JAJAH, check out their website here!

They just came up with an app that uses the camera on the iPhone or iPod Touch to identify and say aloud which bill is showing on the screen in real-time. The app doesn’t require an internet connection, so you can use the app anywhere, anytime. Check out the video below.

CBS Sports just announced that Apple has a new app available called NCAA March Madness On Demand. Last year during the tournament, Apple had an app available that allowed users to watch March Madness live, but it cost $9.99. So this year, you can check out whatever March Madness basketball game you want- all for free.
The app is available for the iPhone and iPod Touch, but there is also an app made specifically for the iPad.
The reason they made this app free this year is to target younger viewers. According to Michael Adamson, vice president of Time Warner, Inc said ,“We want people using the product with these companion views while they’re watching it on TV. If that’s the case, that’s a success in our minds, because that’s a good consumer experience and a larger aggregate audience as a result.”
You can download the app in the app store today. It’s all completely free- enjoy March Madness! .

If you’ve made the mistake of giving your baby your iPhone or iPod Touch just once, you know now that your baby won’t want to play with anything else from now on. Well, now you can let them play with your iPhone or iPod Touch and not have to worry about them breaking it or damaging it in any way. Fisher-Price has just come out with a great new case called the Laugh n Learn iCan Play case. The case protects your iPhone or iPod Touch from your baby and at the same time, it allows your baby to play with it, too. It has rings on the sides for your baby to chew on and play with and a mirror on the back. Also, the case covers up the home button because Fisher-Price knows that if there are any buttons to push, a baby is going to push it. With the home button covered up, the baby can play with the iPhone or iPod Touch and not be able to exit out of the app you have them using.
Fisher-Price also has some free apps for your baby at the app store designed for babies that are 6 months and up. The Laugh n Learn iCan Play iPhone case will be available for $14.99 sometime this summer.
