Apple claims that the glass on the front and back of the new iPhone 4 is, “20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic.” But, according to a quick test done on the new iPhone 4, the glass casing isn’t really as strong as Apple makes it seem. The iPhone 4 was dropped from 3.5 feet three times in this test, and after the first two drops, it was fine. But on the third drop, the screen shattered, as shown in the picture.
Apple does not offer coverage for accidental damage. If the screen of your brand new iPhone 4 could do this when you drop it, then you need someone who will cover accidental damage.
This is where Worth Ave. Group comes in. Worth Ave Group is the best iPhone insurance you can find. It covers accidental damage, liquid damage, theft, flood, fire, natural disaster, vandalism, and power surge due to lightning. So, when you order your new iPhone, get some iPhone insurance from Worth Ave. Group to go with it.
The Apple Worldwide Developers Conference begins today in San Francisco, and it is highly expected that the CEO of Apple Inc, Steve Jobs, will release the newest generation of iPhone. Jobs is the keynote speaker and will kick off the WWDC at 10 am, PST.
I will update on the WWDC and post about the new releases, if any, that Steve Jobs announces.
Unlike every other phone offered by AT&T, the iPhone has never been covered by AT&T’s Wireless Phone Insurance. AT&T recently decided to extend their insurance to iPhones, too. As great as this sounds, you better think twice before considering their insurance.
AT&T’s iPhone insurance plan is a whopping $13.99 a month with a $199 deductible (for the iPhone 3GS, 32 GB). Worth Ave. Group offers iPhone insurance for only $79 a year, which is less than $7 a month. Insurance for your iPhone with Worth Ave. Group has a $50 deductible, one-fourth of the price of the AT&T deductible.
With AT&T, you have to get the iPhone insurance when you’re signing up for a plan with AT&T. You only have a 30 day window to sign up for the insurance. So, if you have an iPhone that’s wasn’t just purchased, then you cannot get the insurance AT&T offers. Worth Ave. Group is different because your iPhone doesn’t have to be new for it to be covered.
So, if you’re needing insurance for your iPhone, Worth Ave. Group is by far the best option available.
With the SoundHound App for iPhone and iPod, you will always know what song you’re listening to, no matter where you’re at. To use this app, just put the microphone of your iPhone or iPod next to the source of the song that’s playing, push the “Tap Here” button and before you know it, the song name and artist are up on the screen. If you have a song stuck in your head, you can sing or hum it into the microphone and SoundHound will identify it.
If you’re using an iPod Touch and don’t have internet access, don’t worry. With SoundHound, you can let it “hear” the song and it will store the song clip until you can access the internet. Once you have identified a song, SoundHound can save information about it to the history listing, or you can choose to buy the song from iTunes. There’s even an icon to show whether of not you already have it on your device so you don’t buy it again. If there are lyrics are available, you can see them as well. If you want to know more about a song or artist, you can simply type in the lyrics, song name or artist in the search bar to learn more.
It’s only $4.99, so go buy it today!
If you’re afraid of flying, these apps are perfect for you. The first app is called Flying Without Fear. A company called Mental Workout got together with Virgin Airlines to make this app. It uses videos, audio meditations and even has a Q&A section that has questions like, ”What is turbulence?” and “What happens if both engines fail?” This app tries to alleviate a flyer’s fear while in the air. The app has a video narrated by a pilot of Virgin Airlines that takes you on a virtual tour of a typical flight. There are also several visualization, meditation and breathing exercises for certain specific scenarios, including links to go to if you are having a panic attack at that moment.
If meditation doesn’t really work for you, then there’s another app made by the same companies that may help you with your flights. This app is called Jet Lag Fighter, and it uses sleep adjustments and light therapy to lessen the effects of jet lag. This app is somewhat similar to the Flying Without Fear app because it has an informative video and uses relaxation techniques to calm you. To use this app, you enter in your flight departure and arrival times. The app then lets you know when you should be in bright light, when to sleep, and when to exercise throughout your flight.
Hopefully with these apps, fearful flyers will be able to relax on their flights and enjoy their trips more.
All over the internet and forums, you see talk and pictures of the new iPhone 4G. Now, the newest pictures show the iPhone 4G in white. The iPhone 3G and 3GS were both available in white, so having the iPhone 4G available in white seems like a good possibility.
There’s, of course, no way to confirm if these rumors are true yet. What do you think? Real or fake?
The iPhone won’t be on the Verizon network, not this year at least.
This still isn’t official, but analysts have said that it’s unlikely the Verizon iPhone will be released anytime soon because Apple has extended AT&T’s contract for six more months, thanks to the data plan AT&T offers for iPad users. With this new plan, AT&T gives a 50% discount to their normal data plans for iPad customers. Besides this, iPad users don’t need to sign a contract to use this new data plan.
Apple is still expected to release the iPhone 4G in June during its Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco. The extension of AT&T’s contract with Apple shows that the phone will only be available on AT&T.

Starting in November, passengers aboard planes flying Air New Zealand will be able to use their iPhones and other data-enabled mobile devices. The airline announced that on the new Boeing 777-300 ER, which is due to arrive sometime later this year, Aeromobile’s phone and data system will be installed. The passengers won’t be able to make voice calls during the flights. They will be billed by their phone company at a rate of NZ$40 (about $27 US) per megabyte of data.
“Feedback from our customers has shown they wish to be able to text, and check emails, to stay in touch with friends, family and colleagues during their long-haul flights,” says Ed Sims, Air New Zealand’s group general manager international.
