Apple has recently been awarded several world records for both the iPhone 4 and the App Store. Here’s what was awarded by The Guiness Book of World Records 2011 Gamers Edition. The fastest selling portable gaming system is the iPhone 4. According to Guiness, the first-day sales of the iPhone 4 was an estimated 1.5 million units. In comparison, the PSP sold only 200,000 units and the Nintendo DS only sold 600,000 units the first day they were available.
The most popular application marketplace, the largest downloadable video game store, and largest launch line-up of any gaming system is the Apple App Store. The App Store had over 6.5 billion downloads and nearly 260,000 apps available for download- which makes it the most popular downloadable app store in the world. Out of all these apps, nearly 40,000 of them were games, making the App Store the largest video game download store in the world. The last award the app store received, largest launch line-up of any gaming system, was determined when the App Store launched. It had over 500 apps when it launched, and 145 of those were games- which won the App Store the award.
If you want to hear music while riding your bike or motorcycle, then here’s a great product for you. It’s called “iCarry Bike L” and you can use it to safely attach your iPhone to the handlebars of your bike or motorcycle. If you have ever wanted to watch live TV on your iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch, you will be able to soon from just about anywhere- even if you’re in a moving vehicle. The company that is making this all possible is called Valups. As you can see from the picture, the Tivizen plugs directly into the device and then can provide up to 2.5 hours of live TV before the battery has to be recharged. Hopefully the company will make some changes to the Tivizen before its release in June and the battery life will be longer.
Valups is also working on a Wi-Fi version of Tivizen and that is also going to be released later this year.
Withings has just come out with a new baby monitor that can stream video and audio to your iPhone or any other device that is connected to the internet. The Withings Smart Baby Monitor is equipped with a 3 MP camera that allows parents to check on their baby from anywhere there is an internet connection. So, for instance, if the parents are out for dinner and they hired a babysitter, they can see how well he or she is doing with their child.
If you think the Withings Smart Baby Monitor is just a camera with a microphone, you’re wrong. It has many other features that will make it well worth the price. If the baby is having trouble falling asleep, there is a built-in speaker on the monitor that allows you to soothe your baby without actually going into the room the baby is in. It has infrared LEDs give you access to night vision, which is a very important feature on a baby monitor. You can also check the temperature and humidity of the room to make sure that your baby isn’t too hot or cold. Another awesome feature allows you to choose music to play through the monitor to help your baby sleep peacefully.
This monitor seems like a great deal to me! It isn’t available quite yet, but the company is hoping to have it up for sale by March 2011.
A Sam’s Club memo showing it’s up coming sales between now and Christmas Day has been leaked and is spreading across the internet. This memo shows an iPhone 4 special which gives customers the option of purchasing the iPhone 4 16GB for $147. This comes with a 2 year contract and is through AT&T. Also available is the iPhone 3GS for $47. No trade-ins are necessary to receive these great prices.
If the rumors of these great prices are true and you’re not a current member of Sam’s Club it’s definitely worth the money to sign up for a membership and get in line for a new iPhone.
Angry Birds has been one of the highest selling iPhone apps in the app store for quite a while. The makers of this app released a Halloween edition and are now talking about releasing a Christmas edition, too. If you look at the developers’ Twitter posts, you will find that the Christmas edition of Angry Birds has been submitted to the app store and will hopefully be available in a week or so. The price for the Christmas edition app is free if you bought the Halloween edition, but $0.99 for iPhone and iPod touch and $1.99 for the iPad if you didn’t.

There is a new printer for your iPhone. It’s called the Bolle BP-10 Photo Printer. With this printer, all you have to do is dock your iPhone, select the pictures from your gallery, and print! It can’t get much easier than that.
The printer doubles as a charger when your iPhone is docked. We all know that with iPhones, you need all the extra power you can get. Also, you can select different parts of pictures and create a single 4×6 picture with all of your favorite parts of other pictures and print it off. You can see this in the picture on the left.
