The keyboard on the iPhone 4 is much more advanced than any other iPhone keyboard. There are many, many new features. I’ll write about only a few.
1) The iPhone tracks what you type and compares it with its spell check, so it can suggest words as you’re typing. It even learns and remembers the words you use often.
2) To edit as you’re typing, tap and hold to bring up a magnifying glass. With the magnifying glass, you can move the cursor exactly where you want it.
3) iPhone adds apostrophes in words such as “won’t.” If you press the space bar twice, iPhone inserts a period at the end of the sentence you just typed, then it capitalizes the next word for you.
4) By double-tapping the screen, you can cut, copy, or paste. You can copy and paste images and content from the web and enter it into a text or email. If you make a mistake, just shake your iPhone to undo.
5) When you’re surfing the web and you want to enter a web address into your iPhone, a “.com” key appears on the keyboard to help you type the address faster.
6) Lastly, the iPhone keyboard allows you to switch between over 40 international layouts. The iPhone also features character recognition software- you can draw a Chinese character with your finger and then choose the matching result, as shown in the picture.
All over the internet and forums, you see talk and pictures of the new iPhone 4G. Now, the newest pictures show the iPhone 4G in white. The iPhone 3G and 3GS were both available in white, so having the iPhone 4G available in white seems like a good possibility.
There’s, of course, no way to confirm if these rumors are true yet. What do you think? Real or fake?
BabyBump is an iPhone app to track pregnancy. It’s a great app for moms-to-be to be able to know how their pregnancy is going. The home screen of the BabyBump app displays your chosen picture of your baby, name, how many weeks and days you are along in your pregnancy, what trimester you’re in, and how many days left until your due date. BabyBump has 8 different sections to track information.
-Weekly Info: In this section, the app shows the approximate weight and length of your baby. It takes this information and compares the baby’s size to a fruit or vegetable. This section also provides other interesting information. Information about the baby’s developmental stage and what to expect with the mother’s body are just two.
-Journal: Here, you can record anything you want to. Charts are available to record weight and waist size.
-Photos: A place to keep photos.
-Birth: In this section, there is an informative video of the birth process, a list of items that you need for the baby’s arrival, and a checklist of your birth plan. After your baby is born, go to this section to make a quick birth announcement and send it to your Twitter, Facebook, and email.
-Kick Counter: A counter to record kicks.
-Contractions: A similar counter to record contractions.
-Baby Names: A list of 1000 girl and 1000 boy names. You can record a list of favorite names and enter any names you like that aren’t on the list.
-Community: This is where you can post blogs or threads and see what other moms-to-be are saying. There are lots of different categories, and even a section for dads-to-be.
A new iPhone/iPod app allows you to lose that extra weight before the summer begins. The All-in Fitness Pedometer counts how many steps you’ve taken, keeps track of the distance you’ve covered, and the amount of time you have spent walking. It also monitors the speed you are traveling, your average speed and how many total calories you’ve burnt since you started. All the readings are stored in the memory, so when you want to track your progress, you easily can.
While using this app, you can listen to music and take incoming calls. This app is available for only $1.99.
Pictures of what could be the new iPhone 4G continue to be leaked onto the internet. The excitement continues to build for the release of Apple’s new iPhone. I can’t wait to see it when it is released within the next few months.
Foxconn, the manufacturer of Apple’s next-generation iPhones, plans to build and ship 24 million iPhones before the end of this year. By contrast, Apple claims to have sold 33 million iPhones total from the phone’s launch in 2007 until the end of 2009.
The fourth-generation iPhone will have a higher-quality touchscreen like the one currently used for HTC’s Hero phone. The new display is said to have more pixels, to allow a wider viewing angle, and to be more readable in sunlight.
The end game of those features: Making the iPhone an acceptable e-reader compared to Amazon’s Kindle, and competing with Android phones that have higher screen resolution than the current iPhone 3G S model.
How will Apple plan to sell so many phones? The most obvious scenario would be to let multiple U.S. carriers, not just AT&T, sell the phones after AT&T’s exclusive contract with Apple expires this year. Lower prices are another possibility, but in the USA carriers are already spending a lot to subsidize phones. Ideally, the new iPhone will be so hot we’ll gladly blow $200 on one.
