Affordable iPhone insurance for accidental damage and theft
About InsuranceForiPhones.Com
After my 3rd broken or stolen iPhone (I only blame myself) it was time to find some insurance. I thought about insurance after my 2nd drop but couldn't find an affordable option. Then I found Worth Ave. Group. I paid 63 dollars for the policy, half the price of squaretrade. When my phone was stolen afterward they replaced it for just a 50 dollar deductible. So for 113 dollars, I got a brand new iPhone. Since I wasn't eligible for an upgrade with AT&T, it was going to cost 500 for a new phone! On ebay it was at least 600 for a new 16GB iPhone 3GS. You do the math! And THAT is why I started this site. Hopefully I'll save some of you from having a broken phone and no insurance!
Apple has called a press conference for tomorrow, Friday, July 16. Apple has said that the conference is about the iPhone 4 and all the issues involving the antenna. This issue has escalated since Consumer Reports decided on Monday that it would withhold its recommendation for consumers to buy it because of the antenna. The Consumer Reports magazine said the signal on the iPhone 4 can be lowered just by touching the left hand bottom corner of the iPhone 4. Consumer Reports told Apple that before they it can recommend the iPhone 4 to consumers, Apple needs to provide a free fix.
Apple needs to do something to make customers and Consumers Reports happy. Analysts have estimated that providing the free bumper cases that fix the anntenna issue would cost $150 million. A recall, which is unlikely, could cost Apple $1.5 billion. Whatever they need to do to fix the issue should be done. Hopefully we’ll find out tomorrow after the conference. Check back to this website to see what Apple has decided.

Apple has come up with a great new way to advertise for the iPhone 4. It’s well known already that the iPhone 4 has a feature that is called FaceTime. With FaceTime, you can video chat with friends and family using the front-facing camera. By using FaceTime, you can let others know when something big happens. You can watch the commercials Apple came up with here. The first one is a father-daughter FaceTime conversation about the daughter’s new braces.
The next commercial shows a man seeing his new granddaughter for the first time.
The third commercial shows a conversation between a girlfriend and boyfriend. She just got a new haircut, but it went badly. Luckily, her boyfriend understands, as you can see. A little encouragement can go a long way.
The last commercial Apple made shows some big news. Maybe the biggest news of all.
I don’t know about you, but seeing these commercials makes me want to get an iPhone 4!
News about the iPhone 4 antenna is all over the internet. Bloggers are constantly talking about holding the iPhone 4 a certain way, called the “death grip,” and losing 4 or 5 bars of signal. But in a PCWorld article, Apple, Inc. released a statement that said there is something wrong with the newest iPhone, but it’s not the antenna.
Apple admitted to using a flawed formula to calculate the number of bars of signal strength. Spencer Webb, president of AntennaSys, did some tests on the iPhone 4 and found that (almost) everything’s okay with it. Webb and a co-worker decided to do some tests of their own. Webb stated that “this was a non-scientific test, but it was done by two engineers who deal with RF devices for a living.”
First, they made a call with the iPhone 4 and held it at the top. They had no problems with the signal dropping. Then, they switched and held the iPhone 4 with the “death grip” by holding the bottom of the the phone tightly. Webb said they were able to make the signal drop 4 or 5 bars but the quality of the call wasn’t affected, and the call never dropped.
After they did this test, they took another iPhone and did the same test on the antenna. This iPhone, though, was a first-generation iPhone. They got the same exact results in this test. This proves that the antenna on the iPhone 4 has nothing wrong with it. Webb states that “any handheld radio device is going to suffer the same way if you put your hand over the antenna. You’re going to cause a reduction in performance, period. That’s not a news flash.”
The transformation of the cell phone from huge antennas on the top of the phone to an internal antenna means that today’s cell phone users don’t have what Webb calls “antenna consciousness.” Covering the antenna of any cell phone will affect its performance, so the news swirling around the antenna of the iPhone 4 really isn’t news at all.
Finding the closest Emergency Room is easy with the findER app for iPhone. Researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Emergency Medicine Network created a free iPhone application that is able to find emergency rooms that are in your area. By watching the video below, you can see how the findER app works.
FindER uses the iPhone’s GPS to locate which of nearly 5,000 emergency rooms in its database is closest to you. As shown on the video, findER shows step by step directions to and general information about different emergency rooms. It also has a 911 button that allows you to make a quick 911 call.
Hopefully, you will never need this app, but it’s completely free so there’s no reason not to download it and add it to your list of apps. You can find it in the app store under the file name “EMNet findER.”

In the first three days , Apple sold 1.7 million iPhone 4s. This makes the iPhone 4 the most successful Apple product ever. Many stores are still sold out of the iPhone 4. Orders that have been made online are supposed to be shipping out in the next few weeks. Steve Jobs stated that, “We apologize to those customers who were turned away because we did not have enough supply.”
Many of the early buyers got their hands on new iPhones with the intent to sell them. One week after the iPhone 4 became available, over 30,000 iPhones were available on eBay- with prices up to $1,200.
All of this is happening and the white iPhone 4 isn’t even available yet. It’s expected to sell very well, too, just like the black iPhone 4 did. According to Apple, the white iPhone 4 will be available sometime in late July.

Foxconn, the manufacturer of Apple’s next-generation iPhones, plans to build and ship 24 million iPhones before the end of this year. By contrast, Apple claims to have sold 33 million iPhones total from the phone’s launch in 2007 until the end of 2009.
The fourth-generation iPhone will have a higher-quality touchscreen like the one currently used for HTC’s Hero phone. The new display is said to have more pixels, to allow a wider viewing angle, and to be more readable in sunlight.
The end game of those features: Making the iPhone an acceptable e-reader compared to Amazon’s Kindle, and competing with Android phones that have higher screen resolution than the current iPhone 3G S model.
How will Apple plan to sell so many phones? The most obvious scenario would be to let multiple U.S. carriers, not just AT&T, sell the phones after AT&T’s exclusive contract with Apple expires this year. Lower prices are another possibility, but in the USA carriers are already spending a lot to subsidize phones. Ideally, the new iPhone will be so hot we’ll gladly blow $200 on one.

10. It keeps you entertained while you’re having to wait for your oil change or sitting through in a business meeting (although I would NEVER dream of doing this).
9. The Calendar with the pop up reminders.
8. The texting is almost like IMing in that you can easily see your previous conversations.
7. It has a built in GPS, which is great for someone who gets lost…a lot!
6. You can navigate away from a phone call you’re having, to do something else on your phone.
5. The touch pad…it actually works.
4. At a church picnic, 15 miles from town and out in Billy Bob’s field, I can tell something the capital of Wessex, England (It’s Winchester by the way).
3. There’s always a new app to download
2. It takes great pictures when you accidently leave your camera at home…like at your child’s 5th birthday party. Oops.
1. Its idiot proof. Someone who knows nothing about smart phones can pick up an iPhone and learn how to navigate through it easily. Even if they get lost somewhere throughout the phone…there’s this beautiful button at the bottom that will zip them right to the home screen.

Check out this really cool case for the iPhone! It actually charges the battery.
The ONLY (and I mean ONLY) thing that frustrates me about my iPhone is the battery life. It sometimes feels as if my phone is constantly out of juice…especially when I’m listening to a lot of music or reading a book with the Kindle for iPhone app. So, needless to say, I was really excited about this case.
Here are some of the basics I found:
Promises the case will double your battery life.
You can replace your current iPhone case or just slap the Juice Pack on when your battery is low.
The case is No-Slip Grip and Soft-Touch Rubberized Finish (for people like me).
Using the included USB cable you can consecutively charge your iPhone and Juice Pack. It works the same way to allow you to sync to your iPhone to iTunes.
The Juice Pack is smart enough to tell the iPhone to drain the juice pack of battery BEFORE it drains the iPhone itself.
The Juice Pack battery is made of lithium polymer which makes it light weight.
Also protects against shorting out and over charging.
And last but not least….The Juice Pack has an indicator button. When pressed it will show the amount of battery life is left on your iPhone.
