My husband works at a State University and we were talking about college students last night. He said at any given time he can walk through the campus’s main library and count at least 5 cell phones, and other electronics, that are left unattended on
tables. He said they don’t have a buddy watch their stuff , they just leave it on the table, probably to go to the bathroom or look for a book, without a care in the world.
This blew my mind! When I was a student I couldn’t afford a new backpack must less a new cell phone or laptop. In fact, I didn’t even own my own laptop and had to check one out from the library almost daily.
All it would take would be one person with itchy fingers and a lot of students would be having a really BAD day. Now I won’t sit here and pretend that I’ve never accidentally walked away from my prized possessions but I would never do it on purpose…at least I have my electronic insurance with Worth Ave Group. Besides covering accidental damage, fire and flood, my WAG policy covers theft.
I hope those students had some kind of insurance because it’s only a matter of time…
