The newest Motorola Droid X keyboard features Swype. Swype allows a user to simply drag their finger over the letters on the touchscreen keyboard to type out a message. In the picture shown, the word “quick” is typed out, just by running your finger over the letters.
Swype’s popularity continues to grow and its keyboard is expected to be on up to 50 new phones this year. CEO of Swype, Mike McSherry, has said that they have intentions of expanding the Swype keyboard beyond Android to the iPhone. An iPhone version is already being made thanks to a Swype employee who has been working on the technology in his spare time.
Convincing Apple to change the way for people to input text could be more difficult than it sounds. Apple’s keyboard is regarded as the best nonphysical mobile input system, which could make Apple less willing to change their keyboard. Now that the Droid X has Swype, though, Steve Jobs may think about bringing the new technology to the iPhone.

Today is the day that you can get your hands on the newest technology from Apple, the iPhone 4. People have been standing in line for days so they can get the iPhone 4 today. So many people, in fact, there are stores that have already sold out of the iPhones. It seems that so far, the iPhone is doing great for most customers. There has been some negative feedback, though. Some buyers have reported yellow lines or spots on the screens and others have said that the amount of reception you will have at any given time is unpredictable.
Now that the new iPhones are on sale, it is the perfect time to purchase iPhone insurance from Worth Ave. Group. They have the lowest prices you can find, along with the best coverage.
Apple has realeased the Find My iPhone App, just in time for the release of the new iPhone 4. This app allows you to be able to track a lost iPhone, iPod, or iPad from another iPhone or iPad. All you need to do is to log in to the Find My iPhone application with your MobileMe user name and password to find your lost gadget.
After you log in, the application will begin finding the lost iPhone, iPod, or iPad. Each device that is connected to the account will show up and begin to be tracked, appearing on a Google Map once it is found.
Once the device is shown on the Google Map, the application allows you to display a message or play a sound if you think someone has stolen your device. You can also activate a Remote Lock to lock your device so it cannot be used or a Remote Wipe to delete all personal information from the device. The Find My iPhone app requires iOS version 3.1.3 or later and a MobileMe subscription, which is currently $99 a year.
Windows Live Messenger has recently made it’s way onto the list of apps from the Apple Store. From what I have found, it seems to be almost exactly the same as the PC version. This app is a free download and can update your status and can be used to see your friends’ status updates, too. Soon, users will be able to use services like Facebook, MySpace, and more with the new Windows Live Messenger for iPhone.
Starting an IM with a friend is easy. All you have to do is tap a person’s name on the Friends tab, or just tap on their picture from anywhere in the app. That means that if you’re scanning through the updates on the Social tab and you see some new pictures that a friend just added, you can instantly give her your thoughts on her new them.
Like the PC version of Windows Live Messenger, this app can tell you if you have a new e-mail in your Hotmail account. Just tap the Hotmail icon inside the Social tab. This takes you to the mobile web version of Hotmail right inside the app.
An app for your iPhone could save your life…literally. The app is called MedAnywhere. In the event of an emergency that requires treatment by a first responder or emergency room physician, the MedAnywhere app provides necessary medical information to doctors when someone calls 911 with an iPhone that has this app. By providing this information, the app allows the user to be treated quicker when each second may decide life or death. The base system is the iPhone itself, with the app downloaded. The iPhone supports sharing of all personal medical history data for the customer.
System upgrades include: bluetooth blood pressure cuff, bluetooth heart monitoring set, bluetooth temperature monitoring set, bluetooth physician operated camera system, and bluetooth comprehensive in-home patient monitoring set.
This app is a great one to have. With this app, you can feel safe knowing that if there’s an accident, your important medical information will be quickly and easily accessed.

The iBooks app allows you to jump to a different part of the book by going to the table of contents and simply selecting the chapter you want. Also, iBooks bookmarks where you left off whenever you close out of the app.

You can also tap and hold any word to look it up in the built-in dictionary or Wikipedia, or to search for it throughout the book. iBooks is also a great place to browse and shop for books anytime. Browse tens of thousands of books on the iBookstore. Search by title, author, or genre. When you find a book you like, tap it to see more details or even read a sample. Download the book and it appears on your bookshelf.
As of today, the shipping date for the new iPhone 4 is July 14. The pre-orders that Apple began taking on June 15 have far exceeded what was expected- Apple noted in a statement that they have already sold more than 600,000 iPhone 4s.
AT&T’s servers crashed early on Tuesday, which caused the iPhone 4 pre-ordering system on Apple’s website to crash, too. On the AT&T website, some users reported a glitch that exposed personal information to other users.
If you couldn’t pre-order an iPhone 4, there’s still a possibility of getting one on the original launch day, June 24. Apple stores, Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, and Best Buy will have limited amounts of iPhone 4s available for you to pick up.
As of yesterday, the iPhone 4 is available for preordering. If you didn’t order early yesterday, though, you’ll have to wait. Both Apple and AT&T are suspending preordering sales because nearly 10 times more customers than expected preordered an iPhone 4. On the apple website, the white iPhone 4 is unavailable for preordering. Black iPhone 4′s are available, but the pick-up date has been moved back to July 2nd, instead of the original date of June 24th.
According to AT&T, ”[g]iven this unprecedented demand and our current expectations for our iPhone 4 inventory levels when the device is available June 24, we’re suspending pre-ordering today in order to fulfill the orders we’ve already received. The availability of additional inventory will determine if we can resume taking pre-orders.”
Worth Ave. Group now has iPhone 4 insurance. You can go to Worth Ave. Group’s website and see the prices and all the information for the new insurance available.
Apple claims that the glass on the front and back of the new iPhone 4 is, “20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic.” But, according to a quick test done on the new iPhone 4, the glass casing isn’t really as strong as Apple makes it seem. The iPhone 4 was dropped from 3.5 feet three times in this test, and after the first two drops, it was fine. But on the third drop, the screen shattered, as shown in the picture.
Apple does not offer coverage for accidental damage. If the screen of your brand new iPhone 4 could do this when you drop it, then you need someone who will cover accidental damage.
This is where Worth Ave. Group comes in. Worth Ave Group is the best iPhone insurance you can find. It covers accidental damage, liquid damage, theft, flood, fire, natural disaster, vandalism, and power surge due to lightning. So, when you order your new iPhone, get some iPhone insurance from Worth Ave. Group to go with it.
The keyboard on the iPhone 4 is much more advanced than any other iPhone keyboard. There are many, many new features. I’ll write about only a few.
1) The iPhone tracks what you type and compares it with its spell check, so it can suggest words as you’re typing. It even learns and remembers the words you use often.
2) To edit as you’re typing, tap and hold to bring up a magnifying glass. With the magnifying glass, you can move the cursor exactly where you want it.
3) iPhone adds apostrophes in words such as “won’t.” If you press the space bar twice, iPhone inserts a period at the end of the sentence you just typed, then it capitalizes the next word for you.
4) By double-tapping the screen, you can cut, copy, or paste. You can copy and paste images and content from the web and enter it into a text or email. If you make a mistake, just shake your iPhone to undo.
5) When you’re surfing the web and you want to enter a web address into your iPhone, a “.com” key appears on the keyboard to help you type the address faster.
6) Lastly, the iPhone keyboard allows you to switch between over 40 international layouts. The iPhone also features character recognition software- you can draw a Chinese character with your finger and then choose the matching result, as shown in the picture.
