Affordable iPhone insurance for accidental damage and theft
About InsuranceForiPhones.Com
After my 3rd broken or stolen iPhone (I only blame myself) it was time to find some insurance. I thought about insurance after my 2nd drop but couldn't find an affordable option. Then I found Worth Ave. Group. I paid 63 dollars for the policy, half the price of squaretrade. When my phone was stolen afterward they replaced it for just a 50 dollar deductible. So for 113 dollars, I got a brand new iPhone. Since I wasn't eligible for an upgrade with AT&T, it was going to cost 500 for a new phone! On ebay it was at least 600 for a new 16GB iPhone 3GS. You do the math! And THAT is why I started this site. Hopefully I'll save some of you from having a broken phone and no insurance!
There’s good news for college basketball fans. Well, there’s good news IF you own an iPhone (or iPod). For the second year, CBS Interactive released the March Madness application which delivers live video, radio, & highlights of the 2010 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship.
The price is higher this year (at $9.99) but that’s probably because it’s bigger and better! This year’s app now supports live streaming over 3G, EDGE and Wi-Fi connections. If $9.99 is a little steep, they are offering a lite version for free which gives you video live scores from every game, game highlights, and comprehensive news coverage of both the conference tournaments and NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship.
If you’re a FaceBook and Twitter fan (like me) you will be happy to know that you’ll be able to log into Facebook and Twitter and connect with your friends via the app.
Coverage begins with the NCAA Basketball Championship Selection Show on March 14 and continues with every game from the first round of the tournament through the semifinals and championship of the Men’s Final Four.
The only bad part about all of this…the iPad won’t be available until April 3rd!
As long as I can remember, I have loved The Price Is Right! It was always there for me when I was sick and had to stay home from school. To this day, hearing “come on down!” just makes me feel better. So, when the entertainment company, Ludia and Fremantle Media Enterprises, released Price is Right 2010 App today, I couldn’t download it fast enough!
The Price Is Right 2010 is available for $4.99 from the Apple App Store on iPhone and iPod touch.

I found the coolest screen protector today, a mirror reflect, full LCD screen protector. One of the websites I found promised this protector to be the best, most inexpensive way to protect your iPhone’s entire LCD screen.
My favorite part about the screen protector? It’s removable, washable and then reusable. Other screen protectors I had were great until they got a little dust underneath them. I had to just throw them away because they were so sticky that there was no way to clean and reuse them. Well, that are that when the screen is off it’s a mirror and when the screen turns on its translucent. Most of the reviews I’ve found were positive. It’s also supposed to refract 99% of UV rays from reflected light.
My husband works at a State University and we were talking about college students last night. He said at any given time he can walk through the campus’s main library and count at least 5 cell phones, and other electronics, that are left unattended on tables. He said they don’t have a buddy watch their stuff , they just leave it on the table, probably to go to the bathroom or look for a book, without a care in the world.
This blew my mind! When I was a student I couldn’t afford a new backpack must less a new cell phone or laptop. In fact, I didn’t even own my own laptop and had to check one out from the library almost daily.
All it would take would be one person with itchy fingers and a lot of students would be having a really BAD day. Now I won’t sit here and pretend that I’ve never accidentally walked away from my prized possessions but I would never do it on purpose…at least I have my electronic insurance with Worth Ave Group. Besides covering accidental damage, fire and flood, my WAG policy covers theft.
I hope those students had some kind of insurance because it’s only a matter of time…
Apple seems to be in the process of spring cleaning regarding their iPhone Apps. According to a TechCrunch report, Apple has distributed letters to some of their app developers stating their apps are “overtly sexual” and informing them their apps had been removed.
Seems like Google got tired of asking Apple’s permission to furbish the
iPhone users with the Google Voice App and sidestepped Apple all together. From what I’ve been reading, it seems that Google made the app work through the iPhone’s web browser instead of working thru their operating system like normal apps.
Though I’ve read about a few problems they’re having it seems to be a success as of yet.
I had a conversation with my husband last night, while watching ‘Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains’ (GO HEROES!), about how great it would be to be able to watch TV on your iPhone. There are many nights that, as much as we would love to, we don’t have time to watch TV at all. Even though there are a lot of great websites that allow you to watch the episodes you’ve miss, you have to be in front of your laptop or desktop to enjoy them. This won’t work for us if we’re waiting on my daughter to finish gymnastics, in the waiting room of the doctor’s office or sitting at my in-laws. So I looked thru the wonderful world of apps and found EyeTV.
Elgato , a company famous for Mac based software has released an app for the iPhone and iPod touch that allows EyeTV users watch live TV and recordings on their iPhone 3.0-running mobile device. The only problem I found is that in order to take advantage of the mobile app, you’ll also need EyeTV 3.2, Elgato’s desktop TV software, installed on a Mac that has a compatible TV tuner connected to it (which my husband has on his mac).

Well it’s happened again. My husband and I overslept this morning and in the rush to get out the door I left my iPhone at home. It happens at least once a month and yet it still amazes me how much it bothers me. My pulse quickens, my palms get sweaty, and I feel like my cubicle is closing in around me.
I wonder if someone has tried to call or text me, upset that I won’t be able to read my (Kindle for iPhone) book at lunch or even be able to listen to music while I work. Even though I can always call my phone for voicemail… what about text messages? I mean, what if someone has texted me and they are now waiting for a response?! Ahhhhhhhh!
So instead of working today I’ve been trying to find ways to remedy my problem. I found a really great app for Windows® Mobile phones. It will allow you to:
See all of your missed calls and text messages
Respond to your missed calls and texts.
Set up an away message that is sent to anyone who has called your phone.
I was really surprised that I wasn’t able to find anything like this for my iPhone. If they did, I would be more than happy to pay $4.99 for the next time. Now, I just wish I had my phone…to download the app!
It’s that time again. Some of us hate it and some of us love it but, no matter what, Valentine’s Day will be here next Sunday.
For most men, Valentines is a dreaded day when they feel expected to perform. Most often than not, they feel completely lost on what to get or what to do for their significant other. I once had a boyfriend that refused to do anything on Valentine’s Day, dubbing it just another commercialized holiday. Needless to say he didn’t last long!
For most women, Valentines is a hopeful day when we are filled with anticipation that our significant other WILL perform. I spend the first two weeks of February every year day dreaming of what my husband is going to do or what he may or may not get me and I’ve already spent the last 3 weeks planning on what I’m going to get him…though I’m never entirely satisfied that I’ve gotten him something he enjoyed!
We never spend much, just a little something to show that we remembered and we care. Well, this year I have FINALLY come up with something I think he will really enjoy. He doesn’t care about cards, doesn’t love chocolate the way I do and would laugh if I got him flowers…so, starting this Sunday I’m going to start downloading Valentine’s Day apps onto his iPhone and continue until Valentine’s Day. It’ll be like the 7 days of Valentines. Yes, it’s kinda corny, but he loves his iPhone and especially loves new iPhone apps so this may actually work!
Here’s a site I found with several (and some free) Valentine’s Day apps.
I’m a proud aunt of two little boys who LOVE Elmo. So, I was pretty excited to read about the new Elmo app. My two little guys are… how you say this right… rambunctious! So at times, while giving my sister the night off, my husband and I can run out of things to, in order to keep them entertained. To be perfectly honest…I can use all the help I can get!
The only problem I have come across, so far, is that I started downloading the app about 15 minutes ago and as of right now…it’s still downloading! This is a new record considering the apps I usually download take less than a minute!
5 minutes later…
OK, so the app finally loaded and I have to admit…It’s pretty cool! It’s got me cracking up!
$3.99 to download to get this app. Keeping two adorable but energetic boys happy while inline at Wal-Mart…PRICELESS!!
